miRInform™ Data Delivery System

miRInform™ was designed to help clients understand and manipulate the data generated by miRNA Expression Profiling. The results of your study are organized and delivered in an easy-to-access format.

Explore your data by selecting straight from interactive data graphs and tables to review miRNA database entries on the most differentially expressed miRNA, sortable tables, and online help files.

    • Data enhanced MA plot(s)
    • Hierarchical Clustering, all detected probes
    • Pearson Correlation coefficients
    • Principal Components Analysis (PCA) Plot(s): A) All detected probes and B) All probes passing significance testing if experimental design allows statistical analysis
    • Box Plots: Before and after normalization
  • Interactive figures (Java™ enabled) - High quality figures are ready for publication directly onto your desktop or PowerPoint. Spend your valuable time reviewing the results rather than generating figures from your data.
    • Volcano plot(s) with hover-over probe identification and hyperlinks to Sanger miRBase
    • MA plot(s) with hover-over probe identification and hyperlinks to Sanger miRBase
    • Hierarchical Clustering plots with interactive drill-down enhanced visualization
    • PCA Plots with hover-over sample identification

Example Volcano Plot from miRInform:

miRInform contains many data-rich volcano plots, which show p-value and fold change between two groups for all miRNAs. Color and spot diameter add information about mean expression level and percent detected, respectively in static plots. Validated Sanger content is hot linked to the Sanger miRBase.

Threshold and Normalization

For experiments involving hypothesis testing, miRInform offers unprecedented value. miRInform captures the results from Asuragen’s statistical analysis for a wide range of study designs.

  • Recommended thresholds for p-value and fold-change are provided, but these can be adjusted for your unique study needs
  • Recommended normalization method is global in nature to maximize precision within a study, but array normalization also can be specified
  • Array-based normalization instead if it suits your downstream analysis
  • Optimized for experiments with fewer than 100 samples and 10 experimental groups
  • Our informatics staff can easily accommodate any study design and size

Quality Control

Rigorous procedures enable Asuragen to be the only service provider to offer a Data Quality Guarantee:

If, for any reason, a qualified sample does not pass our process control specifications, we will re-run the sample at no additional charge.

Read more about our commitment to the best possible data quality, or read about our contributions to in-process controls and standardization.

Turn-around time

Most projects are completed in one week or less. If you have a critical time requirement, we can often meet your need for no additional charge. Read more about our commitment to prompt turn-around times.
